Moving children and families from dependence to dignity through caring and purposeful outreach.

Since 2017, KeHE’s philanthropic arm, the KeHE Cares Foundation, has been working with Compassion to open Child Development Centers in impoverished areas of Central America and to financially assist its employees who choose to become Compassion child sponsors.

About This Partnership

Founded in 1953, KeHE is one of the largest and most respected national fresh, natural & organic and specialty food distributors in the country.

Over the tenure of the partnership, KeHE has launched 12 Compassion child development centers – 11 in Honduras and one in Guatemala. KeHE employees who choose to become Compassion child sponsors receive a 50% match from the company toward the cost of sponsorship. Many employees sponsor children who attend the child development centers launched by KeHE Cares.

Through the company’s partnership with Compassion, every KeHE employee has the opportunity to get involved and change lives. Some employees have chosen to become Compassion child sponsors, and KeHE provides everyone with a 50% match toward the cost sponsorship. In addition, the company underwrites trips to Central America so employees can visit the Compassion child development centers and, where possible, meet their sponsored children.
