Sponsor letters are an essential part of the child development program. They’re a way to encourage and minister to your child as he or she grows up facing the challenges of poverty. Compassion has a system in which your letters physically reach your sponsored child’s hands, allowing him or her to take your letters home and keep them as treasures.

The process for letters from sponsors to children is quite complex. It all starts when the national office receives the letter digitally, reviews it and sends it to translation, where various translators interpret it and return it to the system.

After that, the letter is printed and sorted by each church partner’s number. At the end of the month, all the letters are sent to church partners throughout the country; the letters travel by land transportation, planes or even by canoes to reach the most remote communities!

A letter is a strong link between you and the child you help support; your sponsored child can feel your love through a letter. That’s why Compassion’s letter-sending processes are a high priority for our national offices.
