Arsema stands in the doorway of his house

Because of pandemic-related restrictions, children in Ethiopia have spent a lot of time at home. For Arsema, it has been an opportunity to find new ways to stay occupied. She especially enjoys reading her schoolbooks and learning useful skills from her mother, such as how to help prepare meals. Still, the 8-year-old looks forward to the return of normal activities at her Compassion center. “The first thing I will do,” she says, “is hug my friends!”
