My name is Agbessinou. My child’s name is Sewovi. I am married with two children. I am a caregiver in the Nurturers program at my church. Before I enrolled in the Nurturers program, my life had no meaning. I couldn’t support myself or look after my children. There were always disagreements between me and my husband, and there was no peace.
Now that I’m in the Nurturers program, there’s great relief. The church has supported me with the distribution of food and hygiene kits. The home visits and teachings at the meetings helped me a lot in the household.
My child was seriously ill, so much so that we risked losing her, and we didn’t have the means to get her to a hospital. The church intervened promptly, and my child was taken to the health center. First aid was given. At the hospital, the church took care of everything. The tests were carried out quickly, and the pediatrician diagnosed malnutrition and severe anemia in my child.
We were hospitalized for several days, and my child recovered completely. All the bills from admission to discharge were covered by the Nurturers center. My travel and food costs are also covered by the church. I’ve also had domestic clothing and assistance. My child is currently doing very well thanks to the Nurturers program.
Today I can say that the Nurturers program saves lives.
