Week 17 - Lifeboat

Rinki helps her father mend a fishing net in eastern India. Before Compassion was forced in 2017 to stop working in India, Rinki was in the Child Sponsorship Program there. A financial gift from her sponsor changed her life — enabling her father to buy a motor for his boat that significantly increased his fishing haul and income. Before that, he had planned to arrange a marriage for Rinki in middle school because he couldn’t support her.
