When Leoneri was 5, she developed visual impairment, skin rashes and mood swings. She was diagnosed with diabetes, which would require insulin and a strict diet — added costs for her already struggling family. But her mom knew whom to call for help: a staff member at Leoneri’s Compassion center who has been helping the family since Leoneri was in the womb.
