Emelia washes her face with a splash of cool water from a cup

Emelia Aku Asare’s morning routine starts when she uses a cup of water to wash her face and brush her teeth before going to her Compassion center on Saturdays. To get purified water, she and her sister walk 15 minutes to a community well, where they fill up 5-gallon buckets and haul them home. Most days require two trips to the well.
