How We Fight Malaria

Transmitted though mosquito bites, malaria is both treatable and preventable with the help of insecticide-treated bed nets and preventative education. Your gift of $18 helps to save the life of one child from this painful and all-too-often deadly disease. Would you give today to provide protection and hope against malaria in this community?

Through Compassion’s Malaria Intervention Fund, another community has won their fight against malaria! In Awasa, Ethiopia, the local Compassion center distributed insecticide-treated mosquito nets to children registered in the program. The Compassion staff members also ran training sessions to teach families how to protect themselves from malaria. A project was also created to focus on cleaning areas vulnerable to mosquito breeding around Lake Awasa every three months.

Before the distribution of nets and education at this Compassion child development center, there were several cases of malaria among the children. Today, there’s not a single case of malaria present. That is the power of your gift!
