How We Provide Health and Nutrition

When children do not have enough food to eat, or the food available to them lacks necessary nutrients--malnutrition, starvation and chronic health issues become a serious and potentially life-threatening reality.

Compassion's Health and Nutrition initiatives support the local church to meet the life-threatening needs of children in our program, while also providing preventive care to support long-term wellness.

Compassion is committed to the long-term care of each child registered in our program. With your support, we can provide each child with the medical attention he or she needs to stay healthy and thrive.

Everyday, we help children like Addrissia

The region of Brazil where Adrissia is from has the highest rates of child malnutrition in the country. Most children in her area can only afford to eat when they go to school or their Compassion development center.

To provide more nutritious meals for the children, the local Compassion church started distributing soup to the beneficiaries’ families. Thanks to your generous donations, Adrissia is full of both nutritious food and hope for the future.

"My dream is to be a doctor or a teacher someday, but I don’t tell this to many people. Every time I say this at school, my friends laugh at me and say I'll never be able to. But here in the project, our teachers help us believe in our dreams."
