Donate to Children in Thailand
When people donate to children in Thailand through Compassion, their support helps meet specific needs in various parts of the country.
In northern Thailand, Compassion ministers to children who live in city slums as well as to children living in remote mountain villages. Children in the slums suffer in deplorable conditions and are vulnerable to substance abuse, child labor and sexual exploitation. Compassion’s church-based child development centers bridge the education gap for children in northern Thailand with Compassion’s targeted curriculum. Instead of drugs and gangs, children find a safe, welcoming and understanding environment at their Compassion center.
In the northeastern part of Thailand, there is a lack of consistent parental care. Without guidance, children are vulnerable to addictions and sexual promiscuity. A core strategy of northeastern Thailand’s Compassion centers is removing sponsored children from bad influences. When people like you donate to children in Thailand, your support goes to helping the local centers with this goal.
In central Thailand, we find Compassion’s ministry in Bangkok, the country’s capital where twenty-two percent of the Thai population lives. Children’s health in the crowded slums is a major issue. Mosquito-borne dengue fever is a problem, as are illnesses associated with the lack of safe water and an extremely polluted environment. Compassion staff ensure that children know they are welcome to spend time at the center, where they can escape their cramped quarters in the slums and find a caring environment ready to protect them and guide them out of poverty. They also provide regular medical care.
There are 202 Compassion child development centers. When generous people donate to children in Thailand, these children receive hope and help!
