Deborah A. (Grilli) Romano, age 72, of North Providence, RI passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Nicholas M. Romano, to whom she was happily married for 30 years and former wife of the late Alfred Filuminia.
Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Richard) Grilli and stepdaughter of Annmarie (Neri) Grilli.
Deborah was a graduate of Johnston High School class of 1969. She had a successful career at FM Global, where she worked for over 40 years in various positions. She retired as the Manager of Personal Lines. She was respected and admired by her colleagues and clients for her professionalism, dedication, and expertise.
Deborah was a faithful member of Grace Christian Fellowship for many years. She was a compassionate and generous person who always put others before herself. She was a source of encouragement and comfort to many people.
Deborah enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandson. She had a warm and cheerful personality that brightened up any room. She loved to shop and had a knack for finding bargains and treasures.
Deborah will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and kindness that will never be forgotten.
She was the loving mother of the late Anthony Filuminia; proud grandmother of David Filuminia and Jacob Bizier; sister of Robert Grilli and the late Thomas and Marco Grilli; and aunt of several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her husband’s children Nicholas A. Romano (Carrie) and Diana L. Vinagro (Joseph) and their children Caroline, Claire, Camille, Joseph, and Nicholas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a funeral service in the chapel at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Compassion International to help support the child, Jacques, that Deborah had been sponsoring.
