On November 2023, a heavy rain cause extensive flooding in Córdoba, Colombia. The flooding has caused adverse affects on many participants and their families, specifically affecting agricultural fields and local livelihoods. To date, 65 participants have been impacted. Thankfully, everyone is healthy. The local church has given basic food kits to the families. The Compassion Colombia National Office has allocated funds to provide reconstruction materials, hygiene kits, mattresses, and blankets.
Please pray for the participants and their families as they recover from the flooding and heavy rains.
Disaster Update #1: November 29, 2023
As of November 29, 2023, recent rains have not been as intense as before and the situation has been gradually stabilizing. To date, 65 participants have been impacted. Thankfully, everyone is healthy, and there have been no further participants affected in the area. The local church has procured additional materials for house reconstruction to improve the living conditions for those affected. The local church also distributed food aid and purchased beds for those affected.
Please continue to pray for the safety of the participants and their families as they reconstruct their homes and recover from the past flooding and heavy rain.
Disaster Final Report: December 1, 2023
As of December 1, 2023, rainfall in Córdoba, Colombia, has ceased. To date, 65 participants have been impacted. Thankfully, the participants and their family continue to be in good health. The local church continues to support participants and their families through regular visits and have delivered beds, mattresses, food and materials for reconstruction of their homes.
