On March 2023, there was a landslide that affected several sectors of Alausí. The landslide affected the neighborhoods: La Esperanza, Control Norte, Nueva Alausí, Pircapamba y Bua. As of date, 21 participants have been impacted. The country joined efforts as the national government, local government, non-profit organizations, private companies, churches, universities and educational institutions to address the disaster. Compassion International concentrated its efforts in assisting the Child Development Center (CDC) staff members and affected participants and their families. In June and September, Compassion International followed up by providing the participants with psychological attention, spiritual support, household items, food supplies and provision of tents as temporary shelters. Thankfully, everyone is healthy, and the impacted families have resumed daily activities.

Thank you for praying for the CDCs, community and impacted families by the landslide.
