As of April 24, the heavy rains have stopped. The flooding has began receding. To date, 11 participants and one Child Development Center (CDC) have been impacted by the flooding. Most families have returned home, while some still remain in temporary shelters. The CDC has been able to utilize Disaster Relief Funds to provide families with food baskets, clean mineral water, hygiene kits and bath towels.
Please continue to pray for all families who have been impacted by the floods.

Throughout the month of April, heavy rains have caused flooding in Bacabal City in the State of Maranhao, Brazil. To date, six participants and one Child Development Center (CDC) have been impacted by the flooding. Families were relocated to shelters in the community or to live with nearby relatives. Currently, the rain has stopped, but many homes are still full of water. The CDC is utilizing Disaster Relief Funds to provide food, safe drinking water, hygiene products, clothes and mattresses for the affected participants and families.
Please pray for everyone in Bacabal who has been impacted by the flooding.
Disaster Final Report: August 9, 2023
As of August 9, the rainy season has passed and the affected families have returned to their homes. In total, 11 participants and one Child Development Center (CDC) were impacted. The CDC utilized Disaster Relief Funds to provide families with food and hygiene kits as they recover from the flooding. The CDC has returned to normal programming and families have resumed their daily activities.
