A total of 211 participants have been affected by Tropical Storm Bonnie in Nicaragua. The Child Development Center (CDC) staff visited each of the affected families to determine their needs, and they provided food, technical assistance, hygiene kits and spiritual support. All participants that were relocated have returned to their homes and are safe, in good health, and returning to their normal activities.

Disaster Alert: Tropical Storm Bonnie, Nicaragua - July 7, 2022
On July 1, 2022, Tropical Storm Bonnie moved through Nicaragua. Some families have been displaced and are living in temporary shelters. To date, it has been reported that 211 participants and their families have been affected. Child Development Centers (CDCs) are providing food kits, hygiene kits, and shelter kits to affected families. Communication is limited with CDCs due to damaged electric systems. The Compassion Nicaragua National Office will continue to assess the situation and report updates as they become available.
