Rains have continued to fall heavily in several sectors of Colombia due to the second rainy season, the La Niña phenomenon and the aftermath of Hurricane Julia. This has caused the Rancheria River to overflow, which resulted in the loss of homes, household goods, food, livestock, clothing and kitchen items.

So far, 349 participants and their families have been impacted by this flooding. The churches have been providing support for the families and have reported the highest priority needs. The Compassion Colombia National Office has provided disaster relief funds for basic sanitation kits, mattresses and food. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) will continue to assess the needs and provide relief for these families.

Please pray for the participants, families and staff as they recover from this disaster.
