Final Report
The final report has been received from the Child Development Centers, and a total of 216 beneficiaries and their families were impacted by the hurricane. The Compassion Colombia National Office emergency response team provided guidance and oversight for the delivery of aid to affected beneficiaries including food, water, materials to repair homes and household items, as needed.

Update #1: July 26, 2021
To date, 189 beneficiaries and one Child Development Center (CDC) have been impacted by Hurricane Elsa. Many homes have been seriously damaged or destroyed and household items lost. The CDCs are providing food, water, home repairs, and household items to the affected beneficiaries and their families. The Compassion Colombia National Office will continue to assess the situation and provide updates as they become available.

Disaster Alert: July 5, 2021
As Hurricane Elsa passed through the Caribbean Sea, it brought torrential rains and caused rivers to flood in the northern part of the country. Areas impacted include Magdalena, Bolivar, Barranquilla, and Sevilla. Homes have been damaged and household items lost. To date, 189 beneficiaries and one Child Development Center (CDC) have been impacted. The Compassion Colombia National Office is providing basic relief items to beneficiaries and will continue to assess the situation. Updates will be reported as soon as they become available.
