A total of 135 participants and their families were affected by flooding caused by heavy rains in the Caribbean Plain of Colombia. The Child Development Center (CDC) was able to use disaster relief funds to supply food kits, mattresses, and materials to repair the homes of all affected families.

Update: October 3, 2022

Rainfall continues in the Caribbean Plain of Colombia. To date, 135 participants and their families have been affected. The Compassion Colombia National Office has distributed disaster relief funds to supply basic needs such as food kits and mats, in addition to the aid carried out by the church.

Disaster Alert: Heavy Rains in the Caribbean Plain of Colombia - September 6, 2022

In late August, heavy rains caused flooding in the Caribbean Plain of Colombia. To date, 85 participants and their families have been affected by the flooding, which includes damage to their homes and loss of belongings. The Child Development Center (CDC) has been able to use disaster relief funds to supply food kits, mats, and materials to rebuild some of the houses. They will continue to assess the situation and provide help as needed.
