Heavy Rains in Nicaragua

Heavy rains and a tropical wave are no longer causing issues in central and northern Nicaragua. In total, 10 participants and their families were affected by the heavy rains. The local Child Development Centers (CDCs) provided impacted families with basic relief items.

Central and northern Nicaragua, particularly Matagalpa, areas near Estelí and to the south of Jinotega, have been impacted by heavy rains and a tropical wave. To date, 10 participants and their families have been affected and have lost school supplies, clothing, and/or household items. The local Child Development Centers (CDCs) are providing basic relief items to impacted families. The Compassion Nicaragua National Office will continue to assess the situation and report updates as they become available.
