In late April, a mini cyclone hit the Northern Coast of Sri Lanka. The cyclone most strongly affected the areas of Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi. To date, 23 participants and seven Child Development Centers (CDCs) have been impacted by the cyclone. Thankfully, all participants are currently healthy. Some houses and roofs have been damaged due to the heavy winds and rain. CDCs are currently monitoring the situation to determine how to best assist the impacted families.

Please pray for all families who have been affected by the cyclone.

Disaster Final Report: July 5, 2023

As of July 5, the cyclone and its after-effects have subsided in Northern Sri Lanka. In total, 278 participants and seven Child Development Centers (CDCs) were impacted by this crisis. The CDCs were able to provide the affected families with items such as metal sheets for roofing, sand, cement and other wall building materials to help repair their homes. Residents have now returned to their daily activities and CDCs have returned to normal programming.

Thank you for praying for all families who were impacted by the cyclone.
