Disaster Final Report: December 20, 2021

The heavy rains have decreased, and all affected beneficiaries received assistance needed. Thank you for your prayers for the beneficiaries and their families.

Disaster Update #3: November 12, 2021

The rains have continued in several regions. Compassion Disaster Relief funds are being utilized to help meet basic needs. To date, 631 beneficiaries and their families have been impacted as well as three Child Development Centers (CDCs). The CDCs have managed to obtain resources from state entities temporarily supplying food and hygiene kits to affected beneficiaries.

Update #2: September 22, 2021

Heavy rains in the northern part of the Colombia continue. To date, 322 beneficiaries and two Child Development Centers (CDCs) have been affected. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) have provided basic relief items and support. The Compassion Colombia National Office is negotiating with state and international organizations to obtain help with recovery support. The Compassion Colombia National Office will continue to assess the situation and report updates as soon as possible.

Disaster Update #1: September 9, 2021

Increased rainfall continues in the northern part of Colombia and is expected to continue through the end of the year. To date, 266 beneficiaries and two Child Development Centers (CDCs) have been affected. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) have provided impacted beneficiaries and families with basic relief items and support. The Compassion Colombia National Office will report updates as they become available.

Disaster Alert: August 10, 2021

Heavy rains in the northern part of the Colombia have caused damage in Bolivar and Córdoba. Additionally, the Cauca River overflowed causing flooding in several other municipalities. Homes have been damaged and household items lost. To date, 262 beneficiaries and two Child Development Centers (CDCs) have been affected. The CDCs received assistance from the Compassion Colombia National Office and food kits and mats have been distributed to impacted families. The Compassion Colombia National Office will continue to assess the situation and report updates as they become available.
