At just 18 years old, Zertihun didn’t plan to have a baby. She was planning to go to college. But soon after she learned she was pregnant, the nausea and fatigue took over, and she was forced to drop out of school. Her life was drastically changing before her eyes.

For generations, moms like Maria in Burkina Faso have carried babies on their backs using fabric called furungdu. The cloth is a long rectangle that’s securely tied around the mother’s chest. This technique is more than practical — it’s a powerful symbol of a mother’s love.
Pray for Zertihun in Ethiopia as she prepares to welcome her little one. Pray for the father as he steps into his new role. And pray for Zertihun’s mother as she supports her daughter through this exciting yet stressful time.

Pray for comfort for the staff and moms in a community we serve in Burkina Faso. Recently, Honorie, a mom who was enrolled at the Nurturers center, tragically passed away. She just welcomed her fifth child, Wendkuuni. Pray for her five children and her husband as they grieve. Pray for the moms at the Nurturers center who have lost a friend. Pray for the staff as they support those grieving.
Continue to pray for all the moms at Nurturers centers. Pray a blessing over these mothers in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Togo as they navigate motherhood while struggling to overcome poverty. Pray that God would provide for each family.
