Small Acts of Kindness

Small acts of kindness can change a person’s perspective. Not only do they spread happiness to the person who receives the gift, but they bless the giver too.

Remember what Bunyan wrote. “A man there was, tho' some did count him mad, / The more he cast away the more he had.” When we give, we empty ourselves in order to be filled again by God. Luke 6:38 reminds us, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Even small acts of kindness hold great impact and reward!

Small Acts of Kindness

Some acts of kindness are big and some are small. They are all important! Whether you’re paying for someone’s coffee or saying “good morning,” these small acts of kindness brighten the day and teach our kids valuable lessons.

Let’s watch how one student has made a huge impact by spreading kindness in his school.

Consider starting a kindness campaign with your kids. Here are some ideas:

  • Rake a neighbor’s leaves
  • Give flowers to the checker at the grocery store.
  • Help someone load their groceries.
  • Shovel the snow off of a stranger’s driveway.
  • Clean up trash at a local park.
  • Collect items for a local food pantry.
  • Give a gift to your teacher.
  • Help a student carry his or her books.
  • Deliver a meal to a neighbor.
  • Make cookies for your bus driver or mail carrier.
  • Hold the door open for someone.
