Abundant Joy

Happiness is often in the eye of the beholder. Most people who see a rainbow admire it for a few seconds and go about their business. This little girl is different. She saw it and called her grandma with joy! Let’s listen in:

Kids are often brutally honest. They exhibit the kind of faith that Jesus commended. In Matthew 18:3, Jesus said, "…Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." The disciples were arguing on who would be greatest in the kingdom, so Jesus provided a new perspective. He used a child to illustrate a deep theological truth.

Solomon tried the happiness that is offered by the world and found it to be lacking: "I said to myself, 'Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.' But that also proved to be meaningless. 'Laughter,' I said, 'is madness. And what does pleasure accomplish?'" (Ecclesiastes 2:1–2). Many of us have learned that the "joy" of the world is hollow, but the joy offered by God is meaningful and abundant.

"Those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away" (Isaiah 35:10).

GOD SAID TO BE DISCIPLES

We are to take care of those who can't take care of themselves. GOD called my husband & I nine year's ago to take care of a child in Kenya. Started with two, and now at 4!

We started our sponsorship after a friend "hooked us" by selecting children with the same birthday as ours. As a special "present" to our 90 year old mother we sponsored another child with her birthday and just recently we sponsored a fourth child for a church friend who had just graduated. From Tragedy to Hope

May 4 was a date that I dreaded. In 2006, I was in a horrible car wreck and for the first 2 years after that, I dreaded that date. In my prayer time one day I asked God to take this tragedy and show His Glory! I checked with Compassion and found that I could pick a child by their birthdate. I specifially found a child with a birthday of May 4th. Today instead of spending that day crying, I have a birthday party for my sponsor child. My life and her life have both been changed.
