Frizky's Story

Frizky, a young man from North Sulawesi, Indonesia, was abandoned by his parents and left with grandparents, who lived in desperate poverty. His future seemed bleak.

But thanks to supporters like you, Compassion's Sponsorship and Youth Development programs nurtured him through childhood and even helped him get into college.

There, Frizky's passion for gardening blossomed. He proposed building a hydroponic garden at his Compassion center for his college project. With support from the Youth Development program, his vision became reality.

Today, Frizky's garden flourishes, and he has trained numerous teens in agricultural and life skills. His garden supplies surrounding markets and puts nutritious food on local tables. His success has inspired countless other teens to pursue their own community-changing projects.

In fiscal year 2025, 80% of every dollar went straight to program work through our local church partners — including education, medical care, nutrition, child protection and sharing God’s love with children living in poverty and their families.
