Billie Sheafe

Billie Ruth Sheafe (née VanDeevan), born on January 21, 1943, in Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at the age of 81 in Charlotte, NC. A beloved family matriarch, Billie’s life was marked by her deep faith, quick humor, and dedication to her family.

Billie graduated from Sacramento State College, which laid the foundation for her lifelong love of learning and education. She met Larry Sheafe during college, and their partnership flourished into a loving marriage of 60 years. Together, they raised three children, Brad, Scott, and Jennifer, who brought further joy into their lives with the addition of eight grandchildren.

Billie is survived by her beloved husband, Larry; their children, Brad Sheafe (Krista), Scott Sheafe (Cate), and Jennifer Fights (Chad); and grandchildren, Madison, Britt, Nicole, Ryan, Cara, Kassidy, Cooper, and Scout. She leaves behind a legacy of love, a passion for God's Word, and the importance of family. Her loved ones will especially miss her dedicated and effective prayers.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for the immediate family over the Thanksgiving holiday, honoring the Godly life and legacy of Billie Ruth Sheafe. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Compassion International to honor Billie's life and love of "the littlest of these."
