Sponsorship Is Hope Despite Disaster
The rainy season in Peru places communities at risk of devastating flooding. In impoverished communities, homes aren’t built to withstand the power of fast-rising water as they’re often made of reed mats, mud and thin wood.
Brothers Alexis (10) and Leyson (8) lost everything when their home was destroyed by floodwaters. However, they found hope through Compassion’s sponsorship program at their local church.
The family received materials for rebuilding their home, groceries to feed their hungry bellies and other resources. Most importantly, volunteers continue to encourage them and pray with them, giving them hope despite their loss.
