Christian Elliss and Hunter Henry Use Their Football Platforms to Shine a Light on the Needs of Children Living in Extreme Poverty

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — February 5, 2026

As two of professional football’s standout players prepare to take the field for the big game on Sunday, Christian Elliss and Hunter Henry are turning the spotlight toward something far greater than sports: their shared commitment to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Elliss and Henry, both supporters of Compassion International, are using this high‑visibility moment to highlight the needs of children around the world who are living in poverty.

A Mission That Matters

For Christian Elliss, partnering with Compassion is deeply personal and rooted in calling.

“We choose to support Compassion because their mission to share Christ’s love and give children hope in His name is something we also feel called to. Every child deserves the chance to be seen, known, and empowered. Supporting Compassion is investing in futures, helps strengthen families, and shares hope that can transform communities!”

In a recent interview, Hunter Henry shared about his family’s support of Compassion, noting that his passion for the organization has deepened since the birth of his own children:

“We got even more involved once I had my two kids...there’s so many kids around the globe that struggle and the work that [Compassion does] to get these kids out of poverty and really help these kids across the globe is just life changing. The mission behind it and the heart behind it is really why we love the organization.”

Using Their Platform for Faith and Purpose

Elliss says the significance of this moment goes far beyond the scoreboard.

“God gives us all talents and gifts with opportunity to spread His word and lead people to Christ. Football has given me an opportunity to do just that. Playing a kid’s game for a job is a dream come true within itself but having the opportunity to use that to tell the world about Jesus is more rewarding than anything I can accomplish on the football field.”

Regardless of the big game’s outcome, both players have their eyes set on changing the lives of those around them.
