
In Memory of Dale DeWayne John Brown
Dale DeWayne John Brown, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and faithful servant of God, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 27, 2025, at the age of 88. He passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Wales, Florida surrounded by loving family.
Dale was born in Detour, Michigan on March 31, 1937. He was the son of the late Orville and Thelma (Rattray) Brown.
In 1958, Dale married Alma (Lynne) Brown. His children Betsy (John) Ormsbee, Jeff, Chris, David (Stacy) and Susan survive him. Lynne, daughter Michelle, and daughter-in-law Julie (Jeff) preceded him in death.
In 2002, Dale married Linda Huffman. He is survived by his wife, Linda and his stepchildren Becky Thayer, Allison (Chris) Shelton and David (Nicole) Huffman.
Dale was a grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Mickey (Andrea) Brown, brother-in-law Andy (Judy) Proch, sister-in-law Linda Proch and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His father-in-law Carl Proch, stepmother-in-law Virginia Proch and brother in-law Eric Proch preceded him in death.
Prior to retiring to Florida, Dale most recently worked at Procter and Gamble and later in residential building industry as a talented craftsman.
In retirement, he immensely enjoyed many years of travel and camping with his wife, Linda. He served as a Board member of the Tower Lakes community and volunteered for Bok Tower Gardens and the Lake Wales Care Center.
