Compassion has been working in the Dominican Republic since 1971. Throughout our time serving the country, we've helped release thousands of children from poverty in Jesus' name.

Your donation equips Evangelical Free Methodist Church with the critical infrastructure needed to implement Compassion’s holistic child development program — nurturing children’s spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and economic growth.

Critical Infrastructure

  • Purchase new land

  • Construction of classrooms, a kitchen and health care facilities.

  • Recreational structures

Holistic Child Development Program

  • Will serve 250 vulnerable children

  • Program activities promote healthy, holistic growth

  • Responsive programming that evolves as children's needs grow and change

Maternal and Infant Health

  • Lifesaving pre- and postnatal care for vulnerable mothers and their babies

  • Essential maternal and infant health interventions

  • Helping children reach their first birthday with a strong foundation of health and hope

Your Contributions Are Stewarded Wisely

Every gift you give through Compassion is handled with integrity and care. We follow strict financial guardrails to ensure accountability, transparency and the flexibility to invest wisely for long-term impact.

We invest every dollar in one of three ways

  1. Implementing our program today

  2. Inviting the next child (and their supporter) into the program

  3. Sustaining and enhancing our ability to deliver excellent programs

These investments are typically referred to as “Program,” “Fundraising” and “Administrative” expenses, respectively. Compassion’s rigorous annual strategic planning and budgeting process determines the resources allocated to Program, Fundraising and Administration. Our policy is to ensure that 75 to 82 cents on the dollar will always be allocated to Program expenses.
