Bethlehem smiles at the camera

When Bethlehem’s only caregiver, her beloved grandmother, died, the 17-year-old received a notice of eviction from the home they had shared. Facing homelessness, Bethlehem turned to the Compassion center she has attended since age 6. Not only did the staff immediately start legal proceedings to keep Bethlehem in her home, but they also provided her with food and other necessities. She says, “I knew they wouldn’t hesitate to protect me. The way they spoke up for me and defended me makes me proud.”
