How the Christmas Gift Fund Works

Your Gift Brings Joy and Hope to Children

Each Christmas, Compassion’s local church partners select meaningful gifts for every child in our program. Your donation to the Christmas Gift Fund ensures no child is left out.

Every child receives a gift.

When you give to the Christmas Gift Fund, your donation is combined with others to purchase gifts for all children in our program.

Personalized for each child.

Meaningful gifts.

The most powerful gift is showing a child they're valued, especially at Christmas. Your gift may include toys, school supplies, clothing or even a Bible of their own.

Your Contributions Are Stewarded Wisely

Every gift you give through Compassion is handled with integrity and care. We follow strict financial guardrails to ensure accountability, transparency and the flexibility to invest wisely for long-term impact.

We invest every dollar in one of three ways

  1. Implementing our program today

  2. Inviting the next child (and their supporter) into the program

  3. Sustaining and enhancing our ability to deliver excellent programs

These investments are typically referred to as “Program,” “Fundraising” and “Administrative” expenses, respectively. Compassion’s rigorous annual strategic planning and budgeting process determines the resources allocated to Program, Fundraising and Administration. Our policy is to ensure that 75 to 82 cents on the dollar will always be allocated to Program expenses.
