With a passion for community health and sharing God’s love in tangible ways, Miriam Antezana is thriving in her current role as an au pair for a child with autism. Born and raised in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Miriam’s young life was not easy, especially after her father passed away. When she was sponsored to participate in Compassion’s child development program at a nearby church, Miriam's life was radically impacted by the love of God. Her heart beats to share that same transformational love with others in need.
After graduating high school, Miriam was selected for Compassion’s leadership development program and given the opportunity to attend university. She graduated from Colegio Evangélico Suecia with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and is currently studying linguistics while participating in an exchange student program. She plans to pursue a nursing degree and work with children with special needs.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, Miriam enjoys speaking to college students, church congregations, and women’s groups about living a life impacted by God’s love, trusting in God’s plans, and the significant ways her Compassion sponsorship changed her life.
Miriam, her husband Preston and their child, Samuel live in Walnut Creek, CA.
