The Power of Resilience: Daisy’s Journey of Faith and Hope

See how Daisy from the Philippines refused to let her circumstances define her, instead reaching for her dreams of becoming a teacher.

Daisy’s journey is one of perseverance, faith and the power of hope. Growing up in poverty, she faced countless hardships, but she refused to let her circumstances define her. Instead, she held onto resilience, leaned on her faith and pursued her dreams against all odds.

Overcoming Hardship With Resilience

“One thing that I remember is the word resilience. If you have this word, you can really keep on moving forward despite everything.” — Daisy

What keeps you moving forward when life feels impossible? For Daisy, the answer is resilience.

Growing up in a small, one-room home with her parents and five younger siblings, she experienced hardship firsthand. Flooding often devastated her neighborhood, and food was scarce.

As the eldest, she carried the responsibility of helping her family survive. But for Daisy, survival wasn’t enough — she was determined to break the cycle of poverty.

She set her sights on her goals, not just for herself, but so her siblings wouldn’t have to endure the same struggles. Instead of letting hardship define her, she used it as fuel to push forward.

Faith as a Guiding Light

Through every challenge, Daisy held onto her faith. She reminded herself daily: Remember your why. The love of her family, the support of her church and an unshakable belief in God’s plan kept her going.

“Being part of a local church is really a big help,” Daisy shared. “They constantly remind me that I will be able to reach my dream through God’s grace and hard work.” Her sponsors and church family encouraged her to keep pushing forward, reinforcing that poverty was not a barrier to success.

Pursuing a Dream Against All Odds

Determined to create a better future, Daisy focused on education. Today, she’s working toward her dream of becoming a teacher. Even as she pursues her goals, she’s already giving back — volunteering at her church and teaching children about God’s love.

“Every Sunday, I teach children not just the Word of God but also that poverty is not a hindrance to success.” — Daisy

Daisy’s journey proves that faith and resilience can help us overcome even the toughest obstacles. Watch her inspiring story and see how perseverance, hope and God’s grace can change lives. Because no matter where you come from, your dreams are worth fighting for.
