Church Engagement Frequently Asked Questions

We believe every child deserves to realize their full, God-given potential in life. That’s why we offer the whole-life care children need to break the bonds of poverty. We do so through programs that are: 

• Christ-centered: Jesus is at the center of everything we do, so every child in our program hears the gospel and sees it in action through local church pastors, volunteers and sponsors. 

• Church-driven: We empower local churches in impoverished communities to serve children in need. This enables churches to fulfill their role as sources of light and hope, representing Christ and making disciples in their communities. 

• Child-focused: We exist to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. As children grow into thriving followers of Jesus, they can transform their families, communities and nations. 

Each country we serve independently selects which communities have the most need and which churches make the best partners. The most important criteria for selection are: 

• Compatibility with our Statement of Faith. 

• Commitment to child ministry. 

• Strategic geographic location. 

Other considerations include legal registration, commitment to accountability and ongoing learning, adequate space for programming, number of bathrooms and the church’s plan to share the gospel in their community of influence.
