In addition, below is information regarding recent scams we’re aware of using Compassion’s name:
June 2024: We’ve received reports of an unidentified individual(s) posing as "Dr. Lucas Nilsson" representing Compassion International and offering a "work from home" job opportunity. This is a typical "work from home" scam, wherein the subject sends an email to the victim(s) offering them an opportunity to earn income by assisting the subject through purchasing and shipping items. Payment to the potential victim(s) is sent in the form of a check, and the victim is instructed to keep a portion of the total as their wages while purchasing items to be sent to an address at a later date. Compassion International has no affiliation with Dr. Lucas Nilsson or any other individual(s) operating this type of "work from home" opportunity.
