To date, 107 participants and their families have been affected by the intense rains in El Salvador, which caused flooding, road blocks and damage to houses. Schools were closed by the national government to protect the lives of the children. The Compassion El Salvador National Office and the Child Development Centers provided support for all affected participants and their families.

Due to intense rains in the San Luis Talpa area of La Paz, El Salvador, the Comalapa River overflowed, and homes were damaged by the flooding. A landslide caused road blockage as well as serious injuries for several people in the community. To date, 25 participants and their families have been affected by the intense rains, flooding, and landslides. The local Child Development Centers (CDCs) and the Compassion El Salvador National Office have activated disaster response teams to provide immediate aid and further assess the situation and will report updates as they become available.
