My Cause My Cleats: Empowering Players to Share Causes That Matter

My Cause My Cleats is a campaign that empowers professional football players, coaches and staff to share the causes that are the most important to them. Through the campaign, pro players across teams become a force for good, championing causes and nonprofits serving those in need around the globe.

After choosing a cause close to their hearts, they adorn their cleats to match. And during this year’s campaign, several players turned their cleats into a message of hope, spotlighting Compassion International’s efforts to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Spreading a Message of Hope With Compassion

Those who chose to champion Compassion International were punter Bradley Pinion, linebacker Christian Elliss, long snapper Scott Daly and assistant quarterback coach David Blough.

“It’s one thing to play football and impact lives by playing football, but it’s another thing to impact with your platform and using what God has blessed me with to bless others.” — Bradley Pinion

Pinion is a longtime advocate for Compassion’s mission. In 2025, he led a group of Atlanta Falcons staff and players to the Dominican Republic to see Compassion’s work for themselves, helping them better understand our impact on the lives of children.

Pinion isn’t alone in his support. Christian Elliss added that he and his wife “[chose] Compassion International for My Cause My Cleats because their mission to share Christ’s love and give children hope in his name is something we also feel called to.”

“Every child deserves the chance to be seen, known and empowered. Supporting Compassion is investing in futures, helping strengthen families and sharing hope that can transform communities.” — Christian Elliss

David Blough echoed Pinion and Elliss’ support: “We are proud to partner daily with Compassion. We walk hand in hand in the effort to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.”

Serving 2.4 Million Children in Need (and Counting)

At Compassion International, we seek to build God’s kingdom by equipping churches to reach the world’s most vulnerable children with the transformative hope of the gospel.

Through practical care like education, nutrition support and medical care, kids living in poverty see the love of Jesus in action, giving them hope despite their circumstances. As the church cares for these children, they grow into thriving followers of Jesus ready to transform their families, communities and nations.

Compassion currently serves 2.4 million children (and counting) in 29 countries around the world through our child sponsorship program and other key initiatives such as Compassion Survival.

We witness the transformative hope of the gospel every single day in the lives of the children we serve. Since 2024, 520,415 new children have been enrolled in our program, growth only made possible by our partners and supporters around the world. To them and you, we say thank you.
