Karen Hoida
Karen Hoida joined Compassion as director of risk management in 2012. She was later promoted to senior director of incident response, where she continued to build our global security, environmental health and safety, business continuity, crisis management, investigations and response and assistance center teams.
In 2021, Karen assumed the role of vice president of enterprise execution, where she built Compassion’s integrated execution system, which is essential to the execution of enterprise-level strategic work.
Karen’s past professional experience includes 18 years of practicing law in the areas of litigation management, real property and insurance. Much of that time, she served as a regional vice president and in-house counsel, leading a team of attorneys across the western United States, Guam and Saipan.
Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Davis, a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law and a master’s degree in theology from Iliff School of Theology.
