Dr. Michele Lee

Michele has a 25-year career of providing clinical services and developing scalable, trauma-informed resources for vulnerable populations and those who have experienced complex trauma.

After working as a clinical psychologist for 10 years, including her work at the University of Pennsylvania and for the Arlington County Government, Michele joined International Justice Mission in 2012. She served as IJM’s global vice president of Justice Solutions, helping scale the work of trauma-informed care and restoration to survivors of violence. Michele now serves in the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs as a clinical psychologist, trainer and researcher, helping to scale evidence-based interventions to serve vulnerable populations.

Michele is passionate about the holistic integration of all aspects of a person’s life and strongly supports Compassion’s ministry of holistic child development. Her educational background includes a Master of Art and a Master of Education in psychological counseling from Columbia University and a PhD in counseling psychology from New York University. Her expertise in understanding the impacts of trauma was shaped by her experience with the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
