Join us for this most amazing and life-changing trip with others who have a heart for Compassion children. Together we will explore all that makes Guatemala and it’s culture and it’s people unique. Invest your time and talents to minister in practical yet powerful ways.
Compassion has the most amazing and dedicated staff who are called to reach their children and families, and you are making all of this possible.
Guatemala is one of the most unique countries you will ever visit. The terrain is varied, the climate is temperate, but it is the people of Guatemala that makes this country so special. The trip is short in duration but it will be long on the richness of your experience and impact on all of the people you will encounter.
On this tour you will learn all about Compassion’s Child Development Program and the Leadership Development Program. You will serve alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ who serve the children of Guatemala with joy and with excellence. You will get to experience the types of activities that your sponsored child experiences at the student center that he or she participates in.
Of course the highlight of your trip will be the time you get to spend with the child you sponsor. One thing that I am absolutely certain of is that the child you sponsor is eager to meet you. And you are without a doubt an answer to their prayers.
Guatemala is a favorite destination for our sponsors, so don’t delay, sign up right away! Please prayerfully consider joining us in this wonderful adventure.
Registration Our trips fill up quickly on a first-come basis, so it is important to register immediately. Once we have received your registration along with a deposit of $180.00, we will confirm your place on the tour and you may then purchase your domestic air ticket. The final payment of $2595.00 is due no later than 3/20/2014.

Day 1 Saturday: Arrival in Guatemala City
We begin our adventure in the capital city of Guatemala where we will experience the hustle and bustle of the big city. Have no fear, we will travel soon to our hotel to get some much needed rest and prepare for our trip to visit the student centers around the city.
Day 2 Sunday: Sunday Worship Service
Experience authentic Guatemalan worship as we visit a local Compassion church partner and share a Sunday service with them in Quetzaltenango.
Days 3-4 Monday - Tuesday: Visit and learn about Compassion’s Programs
Our ministry team will visit a variety of child development centers to learn how Compassion impacts the lives of children. Along the way we will have opportunities to provide vacation Bible school activities as a team, complete a needed service project in a local community and experience a typical day in the life of a Compassion child to better equip us with the knowledge and experience to appreciate the challenges they face.
Day 5 Wednesday: Leadership Development
Here is our opportunity to meet the newest leaders of Guatemala as we have set aside time to have dinner with our special university students. This is a chance to get to know more about our Leadership Development Program and to ask questions and see first-hand how these young men and women’s lives have been changed through Compassion’s programs and your generosity.
Day 6 Thursday: The Day You’ve Been Waiting For
Today is the big day! This is the main reason that you traveled all the way to Guatemala! We get to spend an entire day meeting your sponsored child. There will be a lot of tears and a lot of smiles. We will spend the day at a park with lots of fun activities for all ages. We will all have lunch together and spend the rest of the day getting to know one another.
Day 7 Friday: Tourist Activities
We don’t want to leave the country without some souvenirs and mementos of our time together in Guatemala, so it’s off to the market for some shopping and sight-seeing.
Day 8 Saturday: Traveling Home
We have learned so much and our lives will never be the same. Memories to last us a lifetime and friendships that will last forever.
In order to ensure our children's protection and determine eligibility to travel with Compassion, we now require all travelers (over the age of 18) to complete a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the children in our programs. Please visit Screening One Sponsor Tour BC to complete your online background check at the time of registration. If you are unable to complete this online, please contact us and we will send you a paper form for you to fill out and return. Compassion uses a third party vendor, Screening One to process background checks. The results of your background check are confidential and all personal information is encrypted and secure.
RESERVATIONS should be made well in advance and require a nonrefundable deposit of $180.00 per person. The final payment of $2595.00 is due no later than 3/20/2014.
