Visit Compassion While on Vacation

Visit Compassion While on Vacation

With Student Center Visits, Compassion will coordinate all logistics related to the day you experience the student center. Travelers, however, are responsible for arranging all international travel details outside of the visit day.

When you are ready to arrange a visit, submit a Student Center Request Form. Seeing Compassion in action is guaranteed to be a lasting memory, and we are excited to assist you on this wonderful journey!

Arranging Your Visit
  • Eight Weeks Advance Notice — Compassion requests a minimum of eight weeks’ notice prior to the date of your visit.
  • Location — Compassion prefers to host student center visits in the same city as our field office. Please refer to the Student Center Request Form for a list of cities that are available to visit.
  • Visits Are Conducted Monday through Friday — Visits are limited to weekdays during regular business hours. A student center visit is limited to a single day, averaging a few hours.
  • Student Center visits are for those not meeting a child — If you are meeting a child, please fill out the Individual Visit Request Form.
  • International Travel Arrangements — Sponsors are responsible for arranging all international travel and obtaining any necessary travel documents.
  • Starting the Process — Once you have firm dates for arriving in the country and have selected a weekday date when you would like to visit a Student Center, please fill out a Student Center Request Form to initiate your visit process.
How It Works:
  • Review Process — A Visit Specialist will review your visit request form and send you a personalized email with a link to register for your visit.
  • Necessary Trip Forms — Upon completion of your registration, you will receive an automated email with links to our background check and release form. Each adult visitor (18 and older) must complete a background check, and every visitor (both adult and minor) must sign a Visit Release Form.
  • Arranging Logistics — When everyone in your party has completed the necessary steps, your Visit Specialist will submit your request to our local field office and begin communicating with our field staff to arrange the logistics.
Cost and Expenses:
  • Cost Estimate — The field office will provide an estimate of any anticipated costs specific to your visit arrangements.
  • Detailed Itinerary — When the information is received from the field office, your Visit Specialist will send you an email containing your detailed itinerary, an explanation of expenses due prior to your visit, and expenses that you will need to pay during your visit.
  • Confirmations and Trip Contacts — When you have paid all expenses due prior to your visit, your Visit Specialist will send a final confirmation to you with contact information for your in-country host, as well as any other relevant contact details for the field office staff.
  • Important Guidelines/Policies — Please read our Child Visitation Guidelines and our Expense and Cancellation Policy prior to submitting your visit request.
  • FAQs — If you have additional questions, please refer to our Custom Visit FAQ's, filled with commonly asked questions. We also welcome your questions by phone at 800-336-7542 or by email at visits@us.ci.org.
What are my other options?
  • If a visit is not feasible for you at this time, you encourage you to contact us for instructions on how to deliver a gift to the country office. Although you may not sponsor a child, we welcome gifts that the office staff can deliver to the student centers for the children to enjoy.
  • If you have additional questions, please check out our Custom Visit FAQ’s, filled with our most commonly asked questions.
