CLEAN WATERSimply put, clean water can be a life-and-death issue for those who live in poverty. Unclean water contains waterborne organisms that make children sick. Some children can even die.
In rural areas, women spend hours getting water. Even household taps have contaminated water because of poorly maintained or inadequate water lines.
Every day thousands of children get sick and die because of a lack of clean water, sanitation facilities and good hygiene practices. Compassion assists by offering:
- Access to clean water
- Access to sanitation facilities
- A hygiene education component in all water projects
