Compassion International's Global Partner Offices

Global Partner Offices

Over the years, we have shared our Christ-centered vision to focus on children with people around the world. Many express a desire to come alongside us as partners in child development.

We care about all children. We care about the poor. And it's the combination of the two that creates extreme vulnerability. It is the intersection of children in poverty that is the laser focus of our ministry.

Today, we serve more than 1.5 million impoverished children through the caring support of strong partner networks in many countries.

How did this growth come about?

It started in the early 1960s, when Canada became our first partner country, with Australia and the United Kingdom joining us in the mid 1970s.

In 1996, then President, Wess Stafford, had a vision to reach over a million children with the benefits of our program.

Wess believed that building diverse networks of caring sponsors throughout the world — all connected by a common vision, mission and set of core values — could make this happen.

It is happening, and our network continues to grow.

Our Mission Statement Expanded and Explained

A little girl in a red velvet dress stands in front of a red stone wall.

In response to the Great Commission, Compassion International exists as an advocate for children, to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults.

What Makes Us Distinct?

A little boy is in a bright blue shirt puffs out his cheeks while pressing his lips together.

Our three Cs distinguish us from other child sponsorship organizations. Christ Centered. Child Focused. Church Based.
