Even with health insurance in the United States, the costs of surgery can be crippling. For children in Compassion’s programs, surgery equals years of wages for already struggling families. For these children, Compassion steps in to provide funding for travel to well-equipped hospitals and pays for surgery, rehabilitative care and medication.
