Thank you for supporting medical assistance

Families in poverty struggle to afford daily needs, so it is even more difficult to get treatment when one of their children is sick or hurting. But your generosity is bringing hope to the most devastating situations.

By giving to Medical Assistance, you are providing for critical expenses, including:

  • Lifesaving surgeries and medical care for issues that require ongoing treatment, such as cancer.
  • Treatment for injuries and illnesses like broken bones, gastrointestinal issues and respiratory disorders.
  • Therapeutic food and nutritional support.
  • Eye surgeries — or even a pair of desperately needed eyeglasses.
  • Prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs and walkers to assist with mobility.
  • Counseling for children who’ve been injured in a traumatic accident or have lost a loved one.

Thank you for giving the gift of urgent medical care to the families and children who need it most. You are reminding children and their families that they are loved, cared for and supported. That is love in action!

Why Your Support Is So Critical

5.3 million children under age 5 died in 2018, mostly of preventable or treatable diseases.1

Pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria alone caused 29% of deaths in children under age 5 in 2018.2

In 2018, nearly 22% of all children under age 5 had stunted growth due to malnutrition.3

Ways to Pray

  • Ask God to give his grace and healing to children and caregivers who are facing illness, disease and injury today.
  • Ask him to help Compassion’s local church partners identify children and families with urgent medical needs so they can provide timely intervention.
  • Ask God to provide necessary food for malnourished children.
  • Pray for God’s comfort for families who have lost loved ones to injury or disease.
