Everyday, we help children in places like Togo.
In Togo, more than 50% of the population lives without knowing if they are infected with HIV or AIDS. Many refuse testing due to fears stemming from the lack of an HIV/AIDS cure.
For this reason, Compassion’s partner churches in Togo joined together to educate their members about HIV/AIDS while providing free testing. With financial support provided by Compassion, 3,176 children and 7,700 adults were screened for HIV and AIDS.
In all, 224 residents tested positive for either HIV or AIDS. Three Compassion-supported children were among the infected. Currently, these children are being supported by this particular fund. While they continue to fight the disease through government provided ARV drugs, Compassion provides food, support and compassionate care.
