Senior Vice President of Global Support Services & Chief Financial Officer
Ed's life verse is, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving" (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV).
Ed Anderson serves as Compassion's Senior Vice President of Global Support Services and Chief Financial Officer. He joined the ministry in 1980 and has extensive academic and professional backgrounds that have prepared him well for his current leadership role.
He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Towson State University in Maryland and his Masters of Business from the University of Colorado. He has also been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1983.
Ed's calling to young people was evident even before he joined Compassion's ministry. While in high school, Ed committed his life to Christ at a Young Life Camp in Colorado. His desire was for other young people to hear about the love of Christ. He pursued this desire in college by volunteering as a leader with Young Life Clubs, an international ministry working with high school students. This same goal is fulfilled each day through his ministry at Compassion.
Ed feels blessed to serve this organization in its holistic ministry to children in poverty around the world. His role is to oversee the support of Compassion's global ministry in the areas of Finance and Business Services, Legal, Risk Management, Information Technology, Global Boards, Human Resources, Solution Design & Deployment and special projects.
In addition to his work with Compassion, Ed has served on many boards and committees including Colorado Springs Christian Schools, Resource Exchange International, Gospel of Glory, Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and Evangelical Joint Accounting Committee.
Married in 1979, Ed and his wife Tracey have two married daughters. Ed is an accomplished tennis player and also delights in playing golf whenever possible. He and his family also enjoy sailing and scuba diving.
