Update #2: August 10, 2020

The Project Facilitators and Child Development Centers (CDCs) continue their assessment of the impact, per affected family, to determine how each family can best be supported. To date, two CDCs and 114 beneficiaries have been affected.

Please continue to pray for the beneficiaries, families and church partners as they recover from damages and losses.

Update #1: August 3, 2020

Reports of damage from the tropical storm continue to be received. So far, 111 beneficiaries and their families have been impacted. Many families experienced damage to their homes, furniture, and household items. Disaster Relief funds are being used to assist the affected families and Child Development Centers.

Disaster Alert: July 31, 2020

Tropical Storm Isaias made landfall in the Dominican Republic and caused heavy rain and high winds, particularly in the north and north eastern parts of the country. Child Development Center (CDC) staff prepared the beneficiaries and their families for storm impact before the storm started. Currently, a report of affected beneficiaries is not yet available as Compassion Dominican Republic National Office staff and CDC staff are assessing the impact.
