Disaster Alert: September 24, 2019

A tornado and heavy rains caused damage in the northwest area of Leon, including several farms and neighborhoods. There are damaged roofs, fallen electrical wiring, as well as fallen trees. The Compassion Nicaragua National Office is monitoring the overall situation and the Child Development Centers (CDCs) are assessing the condition of beneficiary homes. So far, 13 beneficiaries and their families have been affected by the storm. With the support of neighbors and the men of the church, the affected families are temporarily repairing their homes with plastic to cover open areas. They plan on making more permanent repairs once the rain stops.

Please pray for the safety of our beneficiaries in this area.
